Great Product, Filter Lasted Longer Than Advertised
I purchased two of these Air Purifiers in April of last year (currently February, ~10 months later) and am extremely pleased with the results and effectiveness of the product. I live in Brooklyn, NY in a railroad style apartment (one side facing street near-ish a busy road, the other side facing an interior courtyard) and I purchased two 311i Maxs. One is in the the threshold between the kitchen/living area and bedroom area and the other is in the main "bedroom" that faces the street. The threshold between rooms is high traffic, so lots of dust and particulates get swept around when I walked between the rooms of the apartment. Immediately I noticed that the dust accumulation in the living and bedroom area became much more gradual. The purifier itself also traps a TON of dust clumps on the cloth outer filter that needs to be cleaned periodically but I am happy to know that it is certainly doing its job. The bedroom purifier also is doing well, but its a much lower traffic area of the apartment so it doenst need to be cleaned as often. The advertised filter live is 6 months. However, after 10 months the high traffic air purifier's filter is just about at 15% and I purchased a replacement. For context, I run it constantly at its lowest setting and have it automatically adjust to a medium high setting for two hours each evening from 5-7pm (this is usually when I am cooking and honestly, not even sure if this is necessary). I am extremely impressed with the durability of the filters in this capacity. Noise wise, I couldn't be happier. They certainly have gotten marginally louder over time (likely due to filter age) but really not bad at all. My (aging) refrigerator's cool cycle is louder than these things. I'm an audio engineer so I use my ears for a living and am particularly sensitive especially when I am working or trying to go to sleep. Not only is the purifier's noise imperceptible from more than 10 or so feet away, but I have on running all day in my studio where I work and I don't have to turn it off except to record exceptionally quiet sources. To be fair, this is all on the lowest setting. The higher settings are certainly noticeable, but about the same volume as my Mideas air conditioner. The app also works great. When there was renovations happening in the apartment below mine, I was able to periodically check in on the particulate levels while I was out for work and adjust the purifiers intensity as needed to make sure no unwanted drywall or wood dust settled in my apartment. The indicators on the units are helpful as well to see the air quality change when cooking or lighting...erm "incense" and know that the purifiers are doing their job and keeping the house clean and odor free. You can have the filters auto-set depending on particulate levels but honestly, they work so fast at the lowest setting I rarely find myself manually upping the intensity of the fan unless there is a serious cooking/smoke mishap or something similar. You're probably better off just keeping them on low 90% of the time. Recommend these to folks all the time as I do to you, dear reader.

Excellent Air Purifier – Quiet and Very Effective!
I’m really impressed with this air purifier. The design is modern and compact, so it fits perfectly in my bedroom without taking up much space. After using it for a few days, I noticed the air feels much cleaner and fresher, especially at night. One thing I love is how quiet it is. Even on higher settings it doesn’t disturb my sleep, which is very important for me. The controls are easy to use and the build quality feels solid and well made. If you’re looking for a reliable air purifier for your room, I definitely recommend this one. It’s efficient, stylish, and does exactly what it promises.

Great for better air quality! HVAC pollution, Pets, Dust.
I live in an old New Orleans shotgun home where we have huge oak trees. Between the old house, having to use Merv 8 filters for the house to pull air. These are great! So great I bought a second one for my living room after a week! I have one in my living room with my cat and my bedroom. Pros: so far Ive had much better sleep! The system measures air pollution and will tell you if you have an issue. For me the heater puts off some pollution that bothers me. Also my cat has allergies so this was a no brainer did that and an open floor plan in the living room/dining room. My bedroom one is mostly for sleep. Rest of day it’s set to auto to control. These are great for energy saving as well. If you want to use auto it will only ramp up when it detects issues. Vaping sets it off, blow up of your HVAC can, outdoor allergens and dandruff. Great to catch all that stuff and makes the room feel easy to breath. Noise is not bad and even when hearing it sounds like a nice sleep app. That’s another reason I leave mine on 2-3 when sleeping! So far no cons so far…I’d only say if you vape they are sensitive to that in a bedroom or smaller room. It may change your habits for the better with that. Bigger living rooms it won’t set off as much. To avoid the ramp ups you can take it off auto and run it at 1 or 2. Otherwise auto will ramp to 3 if it detects anything sprayed into the air. Also could turn off and let any spray settle, then turn back on.

A Game Changer for Our Living Situation – Just One Small Flaw
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5 Stars “A Game Changer for Our Living Situation – Just One Small Flaw” This air purifier has truly been a lifesaver for our family. We’ve been living in a hotel room with our kids for the past two years due to the rising cost of living, and having clean air in a small space 24/7 is essential. This device has made a noticeable difference in our room’s air quality — we use it constantly. What we love most is the app integration. It alerts you when it’s time to change the filter, gives you updates on your air quality, and even allows you to order replacement filters directly through the app. That kind of convenience is priceless for a family like ours. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to one design issue. Our toddler — who’s almost 3 and full of curiosity — managed to drop a pen into the fan area. It chopped the pen in half and left ink everywhere. While we were able to remove the pen and clean it, the real challenge was getting to the fan mechanism. It required removing screws and disassembling part of the unit, which felt out of place since the rest of the design is very user-friendly. If there’s one suggestion I could offer the manufacturer, it would be to make the fan compartment more easily accessible for maintenance, especially for families with small children. That said, we absolutely love this purifier and highly recommend it to anyone who needs reliable, round-the-clock air purification in a compact space. It’s been a game changer for our home away from home.

Less dusting
Was easy to set up the ap and control the purifier thru blue tooth. Nice looking unit, whisper quiet when running on low. Really cuts down on the need to dust in the living room. I frequently burn candles, when I blow one out within 30 seconds the air purifier really kicks up the speed as it senses the smoke from the candle 10 feet away. Within a minute or two it drops back to low speed after it has cleaned the air of the candle smoke which really wasn't even visible. It really does a good job of sensing air quality in the home.

Well Worth It!
This machine is amazing. When first set up my air quality indicator was blue which is the highest quality. A few days later I sprayed about 5 quick puffs of Raid Flying Insect spray about 15 feet from the filter. Within 5-10 seconds the filter recognized it and my indicator fell to green, one step below blue. Within minutes the air was cleaned and I was back to blue. A few days later I sprayed air freshener about 30 feet away from the filter and again it immediately recognized it, dropped my quality and cleaned the air out. Last week I burned something in the kitchen and created quite a bit of smoke. Within minutes my air quality dropped to red, very polluted. I turned my fan speed up to 3 and before the hour was up the air was cleaned and I was back to blue. Speed 3 is a bit noisy but well worth it considering you can clean your whole house of oily smoke in less than an hour. My 2 story townhouse is 1765 sqft and I bought the mid size unit. And my filter is still at 95% I can see on the phone app. Just wonderful!

Clean Design, Strong Performance, and Decent App
The Blueair 311i Max has been a great addition to our bedroom and has dramatically helped air quality having pets and as someone with typical seasonal allergies. Setup was easy and intuitive, and connecting it to the app was straightforward. The design is modern and clean, so it blends into the room instead of looking bulky or industrial. If you are researching air purifiers, it is important to understand how coverage ratings work. The large square footage number is typically based on running the unit at maximum speed and achieving roughly one air change per hour. In practical use, most people run these at lower speeds for noise and filter longevity. For meaningful air cleaning, around 4 air changes per hour is commonly recommended, and if you are more sensitive to allergens you may want even more. These units are designed to clean a room, not an entire home, so sizing appropriately is key. In day to day use, this model performs very well for particulate matter (PM) like dust, pollen, smoke particles, and general airborne debris. Auto mode responds quickly to PM spikes and adjusts fan speed accordingly. On lower speeds it is very quiet and unobtrusive in a bedroom. At higher speeds you will hear airflow, but it is smooth and not harsh. What is nice is that it has a power loss recovery where it will return to its last set mode when power is restored in case of a power outage. One thing that really stood out to me is how much dust, hair, and other allergens the pre-filter alone traps. It is honestly a little shocking and really puts into perspective how important a quality filtration system is. Even with consistent pre-filter maintenance, when I eventually replaced the main filter it was clearly very dirty with trapped particulate matter. That alone justified the investment. For maintenance, you can vacuum the worst of the trapped debris off the fabric pre-filter, but a proper wash is really recommended. Just slip it off, wash it, let it air dry or gently tumble on low, and put it back on. The app will remind you about filter life and maintenance, including pre-filter cleaning, which is helpful. When it was time for replacement, I switched from the standard filter to the Allergen version. I have been happy with its performance, although I did not notice a dramatic difference compared to the standard filter. Moving forward, I may go back to the regular filter depending on availability and cost. Blueair also offers a SmokeBlock option with a higher carbon density if VOC/ odor control is more of a priority. It is worth noting that this unit focuses primarily on particulate filtration. While it will help somewhat with Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) over time, serious VOC removal requires a significant amount of carbon or carbon zeolite media, which brands like Austin Air are known for. Something I am considering in adding to further improve home air quality. The app is well done and practical. It shows general PM trends, logs spikes, and allows manual control. Being able to adjust it from bed is a nice convenience. It has an auto mode, night (turns off less) and then 3 manual fan speeds as selectable options on the device. App will provide you with some additional timers options, smart location options to turn device off and on when you leave the home etc and gives a little more granularity to the fan speeds allowing you to dial in a speed that you like. I don't use these all I will usually leave it on Auto or manually set a speed. Overall, if you size it correctly for your space and expectations, this is a well-built, effective room purifier. It looks good, runs quietly, is easy to maintain, and delivers strong particulate performance. I would definitely recommend it for bedrooms or medium-sized living spaces where clean air matters. I am very happy with this purchase!
