Are these treats hard or soft?

To me (and my cat), they seem hard. They are like dried-up meat hard. We have a different brand of this and it is light and airy like freeze dried astronaut ice cream. I was hoping for that. Cat did not like this crunchy version.

Review says they need to be refidgerated. WHY do they if they are freeze dried and are they processed in China?

Good question. I think perhaps because Salmon has an oil on it naturally. It is a dried product. I kept ours in the fridge since I knew it would take awhile to finish the container and I wanted to keep them dry and cool. I have no idea about the China thing. I do read labels and will avoid products from China. I have seen them in stores so I will have to study the package.

I've only ordered as a single item. Our GSD loves them! The really smell of fish, we put some on her food when she gets finicky. If you're looking at 12 containers for $17.41 that's a great price.
