This is a very sturdy and well made umbrella. Easy to deploy but doesn’t come with a base. Seems to be pretty resilient even on a windy beach as long as you use the Ammsun anchor and tilt the umbrella into the wind.

I purchased this in March 2023 and it’s held up but could be better. I got it for the Maui trade winds (20 mph plus) and while it’s definitely better than the Tommy Bahama umbrellas you can buy at Costco for $50, this still has its shortcomings. You do you have to buy a base to anchor it in the sand. I also recommend a shovel (a little one from the hardware store) and have a method for anchoring down the actual umbrella for any wind - light or heavy. Buy rope. Get creative. It sits tall and you can’t lower or angle it for the wind. It’s wide and has good coverage. It is heavy and if it’s really windy, it will still blow over (the umbrella part will flip up in the wind). As I write this on March 16, 2025, two of the inner spokes that are plastic have broken and we are duct taping them for the day but it’s toast. Will have to research and find another umbrella. Maybe upgrade to one with metal spokes. Was it worth it? Yes. Could it be made stronger? Yes. Should an umbrella company test their products in the trade winds in Hawaii? Yes.

Pro- Very durable, good size for 2-3 people. Nice material, wood pole. Con- There is no sharp point at the end of the pole to stick in the sand.

Very satisfied, I even bought a second for the rest of the family. The pole is wood the supports are plastic of some kind but very thick. I don’t know that I’d call it high wind proof but it’s definitely heavy duty. The carry bag could be a bit longer, the end of the umbrella sticks out. Overall very happy but kinda wish I bought one with metal ribs.

These umbrellas are BEAUTIFUL! Very sturdy and well made. We waited a long time to order them, but I wishwe had gotten them sooner. Can't wait to use them at the beach!!

Really like this improved umbrella with heavy duty plastic instead of cheap aluminum ribbing supporting the heavy duty canvas. The wooden two piece pole is exactly what I was looking for. Great value, sturdy product. Definitely would recommend.
