will this fit in a cup holder in a vehicle

Fits in my cup holder but just barely. It's tight. The bottle is just under 3" diameter.

Does the lid create an air tight seal?

I use this for about a week now. So far the lid completely seal the bottle. No water seepage and looks like air tight as well.

Can it be personalized?

Just buy some vinyl decals to personalize.

"Not intended for use with hot beverages" means you should not (moronically) try to drink from it, right? It's safe for use as a thermos?

This is incorrect information. As per Yeti’s own FAQ page, you absolutely CAN use the Chug Cap with hot beverages. It is only the Straw Cap that is incompatible with hot beverages.
