Wow... great little aid.
So I know this will not be typical... and I know that many people already have a good swing and will not benefit too much from something like this.... but it really helped my game. I usually shoot 110-116. My drive kills me, because I consistently slice. I even slice with my irons. I haven't really taken any lessons, and I play about once a week (started doing this about 6 months ago). So I decided to buy something to help me... this thing had good reviews, so i decided to give it a try. I watched the video 3 times, and paid close attention to: the angle at which the club was sitting in my hand straight line my back, neck and head made and then the swing line that i worked on with the aid. I played around with it twice for about 20 minutes each time... and then went out to one of my usual courses and shot a 44 on the front 9. I have never shot anywhere close to that... best I think I have done is 50. My swing felt really good, I was really hitting the ball well, and was very impressed with the results. I went out again today and shot a 50 on the front 9 and 51 on the back. My swing is much more consistent. The one thing that still needs a lot of work is my drive. My plan is to use the aid on my driver next to see if I can find the correct swing line for the driver. i some of you might think this sounds ridiculous... there's no way a little plastic thing can help enough to rate 5 stars... but my swing feels so much different than it ever has. very impressed!

Swingyde improved my shots instantly! Well worth the money.
I'm a high handicap golfer that is pretty new to the game. I struggle with consistency in my swing. This swing aid worked very well in helping me find a correct hand position at the top of my swing. It encourages wrist hinge and promotes proper club face alignment. I had taken 3 lessons before purchasing the Swingyde. I knew the correct setup to the swing...such as head, foot and ball alignment/positioning. The only thing that a teacher was NOT able to do, was give physical feedback as to how a proper swing feels; how the wrist hinge should feel and the feeling of the release. The Swingyde does just that...if the curved end of the Swingyde sits flush on your left wrist(right handed swing) then you instantly know what a proper shot should feel like at the top of your swing as well as the follow through. It truly is a simple yet effective golf swing aid. Now it's just a matter of practicing enough at the range with my Swingyde. Once the muscle memory kicks in I should have a much more consistent swing and hopefully will lower my scores! The only minor little gripe that I could make is the way it attaches to the club. You have to find the proper spot on the grip and then insert the screw and tighten the nut. It's pretty sturdy once its on the club but if you want to try Swingyde on another club then you have to unscrew it, not lose the screw/nut, then reattach it to the other club and tighten. Not a huge deal but if there were some way to snap it on the club or attach it quicker then I'd give it 5 stars. Overall, this is a great little swing aid! If you've come this far then chances are you need to buy Swingyde! Go for it!

Just OK.
The Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid is a decent option for those looking to improve their golf swing. The product is compact and easy to use, simply clip it onto your club and it provides an instant reference for the correct wrist position during your swing. However, it's not the most durable product on the market and the clip can sometimes come loose during use, which can be a bit annoying. I have used the Swingyde for a few weeks now and have noticed a slight improvement in my wrist position during my swing. However, it's not a drastic change and I'm not sure how much of that improvement is actually due to the Swingyde or just the result of my own practice and dedication. Additionally, the clip can sometimes come loose during use, which can be frustrating. Overall, the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid is a decent product that can potentially help you improve your wrist position during your swing. But, it's not the most durable product on the market and the clip can sometimes come loose during use, which can be a bit annoying. So, I would say it's just an average product that may or may not be effective for everyone.

Dude.....Buy it!!!! This thing is amazing....
I have attempted to play the puzzling game of golf since 2007 with very inconsistent results. I have experienced moments of triumph and bouts of pure agony. I am not un-athletic and have above average hand/eye coordination. My results on the course however have been very inconsistent in spite of my efforts. I have read books, bought training aides, and taken lessons. I play better than my friends who play less than me but I was still terrible. I went out to a local par 3 a few weeks ago and I was shanking the ball on every shot which even for me was disheartening. My plan was to put my clubs down and not touch them for 6 months, then sell them. I hate to say it.. but I was about to quit. So I googled, "best golf training aide" and one of the first things that came up was the Swingyde. My initials thoughts are "useless piece of plastic" if anyone remembers the Dana Carvey stand-up skit... But I figured what do I have to lose? So this unimpressive piece of plastic shows up 2 weeks ago in a box with a dvd, sweat band, and really cool rubber band. I felt ashamed... duped again by a unscrupulous entrepreneur mercileesly taking advantage of my lust for golfing excellence. So I put the thing on my 9 iron and make my typical hack. My left forearm isn't mating with the swingyde's pocket on the backswing and certainly not the follow through. So I take a deep breath and slow things down. Instead of keeping my head still and foocused on the target I watch my arms go back to insure my forearm makes love to the tip of the swingyde. After a few tries I consistently get the swing guide to say "yes" instead of "no". The follow through is a little trickier but eventually I get that too. After I little while(20 minutes) I can feel that I am more in control. On the hilariously outdated DVD the guy (RIP) says the golf swing is not a "thought process" its "just forming a habit with our muscles". So for the next week I spend 20 minutes each morning and night swinging my 9 iron with the swingyde attached. I can tell when swings are good and swings are not good and the good ones happen more frequesntly. I have a shag carpet that has been in my house since 1984 and anytime I swing well it leaves a nice divot and I can tell how the club head came through at impact. I could for whatever reason hit a driver decently and putt but I was garbage with my irons. So after a week of my in home training sessions I finally had time to visit my local "executive 9 hole course". They should really call these middle management courses. Anyway I get to the first tee and I'm tense and as tight a Kardashian's face after a botox treatment and chunk my first shot. My thought is "useless piece of plastic." I get to the second hole which is a uphill 136 yard par 3 obviously with a back pin position. I suck so I have to use my 7 iron and a tee, so I'm not too proud. This time I took some deep breaths and thought about the hottest girlfriend I ever had, but more importantly when I took my two practice swings I imagined the swingyde was lovingly hugging the grip of my club. I addressed the ball, pulled my club back and let God take care of the rest. What I felt can be best described by one of my favorite authors John Updike. He said, "hitting a pure golf shot is a religious experience." It felt like I hit the best iron shot of my life. I felt like I made that ball my b****. It hits the green rolls and lands about 10 feet from the pin, which for me...is amazing. I looked around and saw I was alone. Probably because it was 8:22am on a Thursday. I felt like a Greek God. I decided well I'll get real crazy and hit my ball off the ground with no tee and try to replicate my previous shots awesomeness. I threw a ball down on the tee box, went through my routine, and struck it. This one was even better. I really trapped the ball between my club and the ground, heard that fantastic smack, saw a beavertail fly through the air and my ball soar trough the air gently landing on the green and rolling 4 fee away from the hole. That was this morning, and if you're still reading this you can probably tell I love the swing guide. It could be $400 because that's how much I was about to blow on lessons. And this dumb thing has me striking the ball in ways I never thought possible. I want to give it as a present to everyone I know who has even heard of golf. I want to fly out to Australia and find whoever made this thing and have his offspring marry my daughters. All kidding aside I have never written a "online review" for anything in my life but the swingyde is freaking awesome. I've only been using it two weeks and it has probably taken years off my futile attempts at trying to get better. I havent even put it on my driver yet but I know when I do I'll be crushing it. I gave it to my really hot young girlfriend who never swung a club and after a few swings even she looked like Natalie Goublis. I have the thing next to me right now while I write this review. I even sleep with it at night. If you want to hit pure shots and actually enjoy golf please I implore you buy it. It will be the best $30 you ever spent. It was for me. God bless. Thank you. Hail to the Redskins.

A must have for summer golfers
Wish I would have bought this at the beginning of the season. You would not think that this thing could do anything but what it does is amazing. All year I have been fighting with my driver. Matter of fact I bought three different ones off of ebay to no avail. I could hit my irons straight as an arrow but every time I pulled a driver out of the bag it was a nasty slice into the trees. Either that or I tried to over compensate and topped the ball or sent it squibbling to the left. 5 minutes with this thing at the driving range showed me what I was doing wrong. It helps you find the correct swing plane. If it rests on your arm at the top of your swing you are in the correct starting position and it should also come to rest on the follow thru. when you can do that you know you are keeping your left arm straight and you are swinging in the proper plane. after about 10 minutes of using it all of my shots were going 225 to 250 yards straight down the fairway (my swing speed is only 71 to 81 mph). I doubt very seriously that a golf lesson could have made it so easy to see what I was doing wrong as well as this thing did This device has earned a place in my bag and if it ever breaks ...I will buy another

2 Stars
Realistically, this product deserves two stars. I would have given this 3 stars if it does anything it claims to do. Unfortunately, this plastic crap is just a scam. Claims: "Designed to create the correct golf swing position." Reality: Although Swingyde teaches you to hinge your wrist, it does not put your club on plane. Whether your wrist is cupped or uncupped at the top of the swing, it will make contact with your wrist. Whether your club is pointing inside or outside of your plane, at the top position, it will rest on your wrist. The attached DVD is a joke. It's a low resolution 10 minutes video that doesn't teaches you anything. Go watch a 10 minutes golf instruction video on YouTube instead. It's FREE.

Lots of promise, but really not that good for me
I must say I was very excited about this product. I read lots of reviews and the concept seemed really good. The problem is that the product really didn't work very well for me. I'm about a 10 handicap, and have been playing golf most of my life. I have a pretty good understanding of the golf swing and I thought the pressure point from the guide touching my arm/wrist would provide valuable feedback. The problem with the product was the fact that it was very hard to get the guide to come in contact my arm no matter where I placed it on the shaft. If I placed it where the video (included) indicated, it didn't come in contact with my arm at all. I had to place it way up the grip by my right pointer finger in order to get the guide to touch my arm during the backswing. The video also showed several other methods of using the guide, including strapping it to your arm with a rubber band (also included). None of these methods really helped. Maybe I don't have as much wrist cock as some players. I worked with it for about a week, but in the end concluded that this product didn't function as described and wouldn't help my game. I returned it to Amazon.

Great for swing plane and creating lag
I have always had trouble with a flying right elbow at the top of my swing (I'm right handed). I purchased this along with the Izzo Smooth Swing to help with this. Because of the arms seperating at the top of my swing I had a hard time staying on plane - the club would point right of the target at the top of the swing. My left wrist would also cup or bend backwards at the top which opens the club face and causes me to come over the top a little and hit pulls or fades and release the club early which means a loss of club head speed at impact. If this sounds like you then this is a great aid for you. It's really easy to use and if you make a mistake you know it right away. Suprisingly by using the Swingyde I have cured some other problems that I didn't think this would help with. I tend to slide to the left - toward the target - on the downswing and when I use the Swingyde I don't do that. It makes me release the club, extend my arms after impact and stops the chicken wing thing that would creep in before. I'm amazed at how well such a small, simple device can work to make such drastic and beneficial changes in my swing.
