Tinker

One week review of my Tinker as a new EDC. Foremost, VICTORINOX makes so many wonderful tools that analysis can become paralysis. My typical daily activities consist of, small projects around the house, opening way too many AMAZON boxes (😀) shooting range, saltwater surf fishing, bicycle riding and the fitness trail at the local park. So my goal was to find a knife that suited those situations and after way too much research I settled on the Tinker. Aesthetically the Sapphire Scales (while non traditional) are opaque and pleasing to the eye. The carry weight is surprisingly light, the Tinker’s size is ergonomically practical, the stainless blades and tools are of high quality, edges are sharp, the ‘Walk and Talk’ of the implements is what I would expect from VICTORINOX. The tools are easy to use and functional. Overall, the Tinker is an excellent choice for my lifestyle. Value for the money is so subjective but considering the quality and utility of the Tinker how can you go wrong? Note in the photograph that the smaller SD was a gift, inspiration for my Tinker and attached to my SUV FOB key chain. While the Tinker is on my ‘outdoor’ key chain. The Orange device is a whistle and the safety pin keeps my keys secure inside my pocket while active. Regrets or second guesses: do I miss the Scissors and the file? Well, I shouldn’t be picking my nails in public and both Tinker blades can do most tasks that a Scissor can handle. But… Lastly, there is a spot for a straight pin inside the Scale behind the Phillips Screwdriver so I ordered a few pins. As well as, the pen shaped sharpener, color coded tweezers and color coded toothpicks for both the Tinker and SD in the photos. Great product and highly recommended. But be careful not to fall into the 🐇 🕳️ that is VICTORINOX- just one more knife! Update: Just completed my first bushcraft project (Slingshot) with the Tinker using the small blade and awl. Full disclosure, used a LEATHERMAN saw to cut the large branches, so maybe a different knife choice would have been better? Working on the larger Slingshot later on. ☮️

Like all Victorinox products, the design is simple and sleek. Its a super-functional knife for every day carry, tossing into a purse, pocket, bag or whatnot to have on the go. Very lightweight, but packed with goodies - screwdrivers, knife, hole punch, can opener, etc. Just a fantastic little knife. Only drawback - no belt /pocket clip.

I have tried many multi tools and this tried and true brand beats them all. I carry this with his little sister. Together they provide me all the tools I need. Super easy to operate. All that's missing is pliers. I solve that by carrying a 4" pocket plier from time to time.

Well made, very handy to always carry. Blades are sharp, other tools work well

husband loves it, he carriers it to work every day, and its a durable, nice pocket knife

I bought this pocketknife to replace one (identical or near as) that I had been given many years ago but have recently lost—and much missed. It has enough blades and other features to be a good utility tool while not being too bulky or too overladen. The blades are nicely sharp, and this tool seems built to last, like my previous one. The instructions also point out a few features easy to overlook, like the toothpick, tweezers and wire stripper notch.

Very sturdy, light weight, easy to use and of perfect size for a pocket.

I got this as a gift is is super useful 12 different things. It has a knife, small knife screwdriver bottle opener can opener super good for when you’re at work like if you’re in hands-on job I wouldn’t say outdoorsy but like if you let’s say work like a wood shopping place like place where you use your hands for your work could be very good. Could work for camping, but I wouldn’t say the best very good. I think every man should happen. Good value for money super small. It’s effective good gift small size and I love the design for knives one of my favorite sleek nice must buy.
