Polar Lights Star Trek NX-01 Enterprise (Snap) 2T 1:1000 Scale Model Kit

It was a nice small model to build. Wasn't that difficult and I ended up doing some painting on it, but it made it look more realistic. It was a good product

I used it for my collection, some parts were very small and hard to fit but overall a good product.

I have painted and put together both the original and refit versions. You can see them in the photos. The original was a nice build and fun to paint. However, while I was building it, I noticed that pieces wouldn't fully snap and leave gaps in between other pieces... especially with the nacelles. I inevitably left some of the gaps in the original, hoping I can fix them in the refit. I bought the model again, to use it for the refit version. I tried model putty to seal the gaps in the wings under the nacelles which worked pretty well. Some of the adapted parts were a hard fit, and I had to use a precise force to get them to fit. Yes, there are also lots of really tiny pieces. I mostly ignored the smallest of the clear pieces. If you are looking forward to put this model together, it would be best to do it with patience. The instructions aren't entirely helpful, but at least the pieces are numbered (not all of these kits number all of the pieces).

Plenty of detail! Looked great after paint. Added led lights for effect. Definitely worth the money.

The Polar Lights Star Trek NX-01 model kit is a great buy. Its very easy to assemble and easy to paint and add lights and sound. I did have a small problem with some water decals but was able to find some replacements online.

First time building a model. I bought this one twice within 30’days to test my skill level. This is the second build and it came out much better than the first one. Might buy again and build the refit version

There are errors in the instructions as there are repeat item numbers for the refit version, so you have to look at the NX01 version to understand what part goes where such as in assembly step 2, items 15 and 16 parts are shows under the original NX01 version, instead of the refit version. The quality is poor considering this is a snap-fit model. There were tabs broken off in the lower saucer section holding on the various side sections. Also, snapping together the parts of the nacelles would not stay together. It is better to call this a glue and paint model instead of a snap together. I would only recommend this for experienced modelers.
