I recently purchased the Manual for Spiritual Warfare by Paul Thigpen and I have been blown away by the depth of wisdom and insight that it contains. This book is an absolute must-have for anyone who is serious about their spiritual journey and wants to learn how to effectively engage in the battle against the forces of darkness. One of the things that I love about this book is how it seamlessly weaves together Scripture, Church teaching, and real-life examples to provide a comprehensive guide to spiritual warfare. Thigpen's writing is clear, concise, and easy to understand, which makes it accessible to readers of all backgrounds and levels of spiritual maturity. What I appreciate most about this book, however, is its focus on prayer and the importance of developing a deep relationship with God. Thigpen understands that true spiritual warfare is not just about battling against external forces, but about cultivating a deep and abiding faith that enables us to stand strong in the face of adversity. Overall, I cannot recommend this book enough. If you are looking for a powerful resource that will help you deepen your spiritual life, grow in faith, and equip you to engage in the battle against the forces of darkness, then the Manual for Spiritual Warfare is an absolute must-read.

I am so glad I bought this book as we all are in a spiritual warfare. Just by reading a few pages, I could already tell that it was a great purchase. I read a little every day as I know it will help guide me for the better

At the moment so much of Catholic Christendom in the West is stuck with The Church of Rainbows and Sunshine... the Politically Correct approach that I have dubbed, "Careful Catholicism" ~ riding on the fence so as not to offend anyone or make any kind of strong straight-forward statements. With the result that while we Catholics in the West are well versed in "social justice" most of us basically know squat about spiritual warfare and the battles we are fighting without even realizing it. So books like these are proving to be invaluable ~ if you can, spread the word and get more Catholics involved. And there is something important that I must share from personal mistakes made in this spiritual warfare: No offense, but please avoid non-Catholic spiritual warfare methods. This is because, as per a good Priest-friend of ours, we do not have the personal authority to "decree and declare" against Satan and his demons. Father tried to explain it in easy terms for my thick head and what I can repeat is that demons are very legalistic and if you start personally ordering them around you can get yourself and your family into serious danger. I myself was doing exactly that with several different books by Cindy Trimm and Beth Moore and the like. While these books are VERY informative, with Cindy Trimm's books being the best I've ever found information-wise (so detailed and practical and they really teach you what spiritual warfare is all about and what happens when we pray etc), the actual methods of how we "fight back" have subtle flaws that end up being very dangerous for us as individuals. I have no idea if my sudden onset of body-wide crippling arthritis was a result of demonic attack from me fiddling around with spiritual warfare like an untrained child or if it is just a coincidence... but it happened shortly after me spending many months "decreeing and declaring" against Satan and his demons. Either way it is enough of a warning for me to not want to bring things like this on me and my family via demonic attack because I am being an idiot. So it is absolutely vital that we Christians, Catholic or not!, are *properly* trained in how to push back against Satan. The most reliable and safe resources are anything Catholic and Orthodox. You can imagine my delight when I stumbled across this Manual For Spiritual Warfare after spending a few months licking my wounds and asking God for the proper guides for resisting Satan so that he will flee from me. I highly recommend this little weapon to be added to any Christian's arsenal! And also three other FANTASTIC resources: Church Militant Field Manual: Special Forces Training for the Life in Christ Fortes in Fide: Church Militant Prayer Book Strength and Alliance: Church Militant Field Journal Information-wise, Cindy Trimm's books are nearly peerless: The Rules of Engagement (but do not dive into the prayers until you know without a doubt about the flaws!) The Art Of War For Spiritual Battle The Prayer Warrior's Way 'Til Heaven Invades Earth (The other books, stay away from them. Although they present a strong allure they are modern nonsense that treats God and the spiritual realm more like a gumball machine that you can control, haul on the crank and what you want will pop out of the chute kinda thing, etc. Very dangerous too.)

All humour aside, the "Manual for Spiritual Warfare" is an excellent guide, written in a "Church Militant" style, for those of us who not only wish to avoid finding ourselves in a state of full-blown possession, but also for guidance in the ordinary, daily battles with the Master of temptation. Studying this manual will create an awareness of the battles being waged, impart intel on the identities of those whom wrestle for the Christian's mortal soul; and to aide us in strategic development against their wiles. Utilizing its teachings fortifies us with the necessary ammunition to defend ourselves against the Enemy's assaults. Praying its prayers-- we ultimately emerge triumphant! Upon opening the shrink-wrap, I found a very handsome, well-produced book, with one black satin ribbon bookmark. The compact volume is bound in dark grey, "Premium Ultrasoft" (imitation leather), with sewn binding, and silver page edges. Directly opposite the copyright page is a presentation page where one may supply info such as Name, Date/Occasion. Also provided are several ruled lines for Personal Notes. [Please see the two photos I've provided]. Catholic readers should note this publication lacks an Nihil Obstat/Imprimatur. (2018 update: I own the First ed., 1st printing. Since then this title DOES indeed bear an imprimatur: “Nihil Obstat: Reverend Matthew Kauth, S.T.D. Censor Deputatus Imprimatur: Most Reverend Peter J. Jugis, J.C.D. Bishop of Charlotte May 31, 2015”.) While I'm neither a theologian, nor a Canon Law attorney, I do feel comfortable stating that the book's overall content is in keeping with the Church's teachings since it appears to be a compilation gleaned from sources (of which I'm quite familiar), most, if not all of them, bearing a valid Imprimatur. Following the presentation page, is the Table of Contents, a brief Introduction by the author, then the main content in two parts. Part One: "Preparing for Battle" Familiarizes the reader with the Enemy (the names, rank, and roles of satan and his minions), as well as the Christian's "Commander and Comrades" (including Our Lady and the Saints, Angels who protect us, and our fellow Militants.) Also covered are useful "weapons": the Eucharist, Sacramentals, etc. Closing this section is the chapter, "Keeping the Enemy out of the Camp". Essentially, enlightenment re: the subterfuge employed by the devil in the form of "Trojan horses" (Ouija boards, seances, New Age, etc.) and how we (unintentionally) invite him into our ranks. Part Two: "Aids In Battle" An extensive, fairly comprehensive coverage of Church teachings re: spiritual warfare based on the Catechism, Church Councils, and Papal documents. Next, are many helpful, informative chapters of scriptures, advice/quotes from the Saints, Prayers, Devotions, and Hymns (without musical notation). Concluding the book is a three-page section listing excellent resources for further study. Scripture quotations in this book are as follows: • OT: RSV-2nd Catholic Ed. (Ignatius ©2006) • NT: "Confraternity NT" - a revision of the Challoner~Rheims version (1941 Ed. by Confraternity of Christian Doctrine). Overall, the "Manual For Spiritual Warfare" is a sturdy, portable, and invaluable resource. One I can easily recommend for all good Christian soldiers interested in winning the eternal war being waged for our very souls. ~. A great tool for any believer to have in their daily list of books to read. It gives a detailed outline with scriptural basis as to what spiritual warfare consists of. I would say it is written from the Catholic standpoint so inevitably there is some belief solely kept by Catholics in the book. I personally have a NASB bible to hand whilst reading and find there's more power in reading certain passages from this bible translation (widely regarded as one of if not the most literal from original greek/Hebrew/aramaic manuscripts. Im not entirely convinced with regard to praying to Mary for protection from the devil as far I can understand she's either in sheol with all other souls or to those who believe in soul-sleep she is asleep. Overall great tool for combatting evil influences in everyday life. I'd just say there's only one name the Devil can't stand outright and that is Jesus Christ. He is and should remain above all angels/deceased human beings.

La calidad de este libro es increíble, se presenta en cuero -sintético- con cantos de las hojas en plata y redondeadas, y el típico lazo rojo (pero en negro) para marcar las páginas. El libro está aprobado y revisado por sacerdotes católicos que dan el visto bueno a su contenido (nihil obstat, imprimatur), por lo tanto todo católico debe estar tranquilo pues su contenido es fiel al dogma y moral católica. Posee incluso una página inicial donde puedes escribir una dedicación a alguien si es que decides regalarlo. Su contenido principal es proporcionar una serie de herramientas, así como advertencia y conocimientos, necesarios para crear una defensa eficaz contra El Maligno. Hay también un apartado de reflexiones y sentencias de Santos que cualquier fiel encontrará interesante. La única pega es que el libro está escrito enteramente en inglés, eso sí, un inglés sencillo, pero para quien no tenga idea de inglés no podrá sacarle partido a esta obra.

The Book Spiritual warfare is a must. This is a real nice book, every person needs. It's a guide. This book explains how the Devil attacks and what prayers we need to say to immediately get away from temptations that the devil sends us. This book is for all, especially for all the Catholics and Christians. Now I also need to give very good reviews of this seller Millenial Media, they are good, they kept constantly in touch with me till I received the book. Millenial Media is good. And the personals dealing with the customer are very polite.
