XLR Microphone Cable, Fully Balanced, Male to Female, 25 Feet - 2 Pack

Full disclosure - I normally build my own cables. With bulk cable and connectors, I can usually build a high quality 25' mic cable for around $10.00-12.00. Recently, my supply of XLR mic cables needed a boost, so I began sourcing the parts and planning my weekend to make some cables when I came across these GearLux 25' mic cables. The reviews were mostly positive, so at a cost of about 10 bucks for a 25 foot cable, I thought I would give them a try and free up a weekend if I was lucky. I expected to receive some OK quality cables that I could use in a semi-fixed manner, which would have been fine. I was actually pleasantly surprised with what I received. Here's what you get for your ten bucks: 1. Ningbo Neutrik connectors (a.k.a. Youngshen). This wasn't in the description but should be. There are so many inferior offshore connectors on the market and you never know what you are going to get. This was my biggest fear ordering these (knowing that they would not be a premium connector at this price point). I always buy traditional Neutrik when I do my own builds, but these budget versions have a great build quality (using a previous Neutrik design), and a good strain relief (the 'vise" kind) which is absolutely critical for long cable life. 2. Normal sized "Oxygen-free" cable. Yeah, whatever. I never did buy into the whole oxygen-free thing. If your ears can notice the difference, good for you I say! But the important thing here is that cable is decent quality, is very flexible, and unlike some of the other cables on the market is not over-sized. For me, this is a good thing. I'm not towing a car with these mic cables, so they need to be big enough to carry sound and that's it. It may not seem like a big deal, but chuck about 100 of these into a road case and your back will thank you. 3. They are black. No funky fluorescent colors. Just plain old unobtrusive flat black. Just the way you want them on your stages. 4. Velcro wraps are included. OK - they aren't 'great' cable wraps because they don't stay 'attached' to the cable. But it was a nice thought on the part of the manufacturer even though you will probably lose them after the first use. 5. The build quality is really good. The first thing I did was open one up to inspect the solder work. It was clean, tight, and even had a little piece of wrap around the otherwise bare ground lead to prevent it from accidentally shorting against any the other pins. Nice touch and I do this when I build my own. Bonus - Lifetime warranty. I have never personally used a cable warranty. For me its just as easy to fix them myself; it is also quicker and I don't have to pay shipping. For my money it is more important the the cable connectors be field-serviceable (which these are!) But some folks may appreciate this feature. Overall - nice job GearLux!

Bought these cords for an event as a backup. The microphone wasn't working well so we used these backup cords and wow! The microphone sounded great. I bought one as a gift for a guitarist friend and he heard the difference right away. Price and quality, you can't go wrong.

Seem to be very well made and a good price. These make the cables I already had feel like they need to be replaced.

Have only used once however the quality of the cable and connectors seem good and had no issues at the gig.

A quality XLR cable for a really good price. This cable seems to be really good for the price and has lasted over a year already with quality and precision. Definitely will be buying more next time I need cables.

Nothing to complain about, well made cabels with nice feeling connectors. Each cable came with a velcro tie that made it easy to keep the cables neat. I would however say that for a desk setup 25 Foot is a little on the long side.
